In remembrance
For every life lost during the use of military force in Beijing in early June 1989.
For those injured, detained, missing or forced from home—and for families still searching for loved ones, names and truth.
Pause for a moment. Remember a life.
Remember every name that did not return home
No number can replace
a human life.
The total number of people killed has not been independently established. Names and lives remain scattered across hospital records, family memories, news reports and private archives. Turning each person into a number can erase the specific, precious life they lived.
The Tiananmen Mothers, a group of bereaved families, have documented the dead for decades and called for disclosure, investigation and justice. Their questions remain part of a history that has not ended.
